Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Technology Based Power-Heat and Electrolyte Hydrogen Generation
Fuel cells are seen as the efficiency technology of the future. The idea behind it is more than 180 years old: hydrogen plus oxygen generate electricity and heat. What now enables particularly efficient powering and heating, was used many years ago already in space – and now also in power generation, cogeneration, tri-generation and quadrant (plants with CO2 segregation for the beverage industry), transportation (cars, trucks and trains) and aviation.This paper will highlight the basics of fuel cell technology and explain the use of ready for the market technologies.
Tamer Turna, was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1967. He graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business – Executive Education Program (2015), performed his Ph.D. (2001), M.Sc. (1992), UGRD (1990) education at the Technical University Yildiz with the major in mechanical engineering, whereas his education credentials have been accepted by the University of Toronto (2015).
As of 08/2021 Dr. Turna has taken the responsibility as the Sr. Advsior Global and Market Entry & Sales for Germany’s fuell cell power generation, cogeneration, electrolyte hydrogen production and H2-transportation markets for BLOOM ENERGY INTL. CORPORATION (www.bloomenergy.com). Dr. Turna retains also the position of being the sr. advisor to the board(s) of cmc Instruments GmbH (www.cmc-instruments.de) and of TES ENERGY LTD. (www.tes-energy.net).Prior to joining BLOOM ENERGY, he worked as design engineer, sales engineer and executive manager at companies (first to last) such as Stromerzeugung u. Anlagenbau GmbH, Borusan Power Systems AS., CATERPILLAR Power Ventures Inc., MVV Energie AG., E.ON Energy Projects GmbH, E.ON Climate and Renewables Ltd., Ring Power Inc. Stellar Power Inc., TES Ltd., cmc Instruments GmbH, KARPOWERSHIP GLOBAL B.V., TORK ENERGY. His total experience of 32 years covers a cumulative capacity of 110 GW installed power capacity (reflecting ca. $110b capex), along with supply chain (products, fuel, services) management, design-build, project management, sales, service & maintenance, project development & finance, investment management, asset management and trade, covering a business footprint in 86 countries.
